Welcome!  Thank you for visiting the California Association of Health Underwriters website.  As you surf our pages you will find information ranging from helpful consumer links to our activity with legislative advocacy.  I might also mention that our website was recently selected as one of the best association websites in the country by the National Association of Health Underwriters

The California Association of Health Underwriters (CAHU), with a membership of more than 2,200, leads the way in advocating for responsible reform in healthcare and the health insurance industry.  With 15 chapters throughout the state we represent a cross-section of all Californians.  Our efforts in Sacramento have helped to shape the future of California by getting legislation passed that changes the way our state districts are structured and by opening up the primary process. Such changes will help to establish a balance which move us away from bitter partisanship that leads to political gridlock .

As brokers, agents, and carriers we educate our clients on how to maximize their opportunities in this turbulent and uncertain time.  Our resources are up to date at both the state and federal level.

The California Association of Health Underwriters (CAHU) is the state's largest association for health insurance agents, brokers and other professionals. Our members help millions of Californians find, purchase and use their health care coverage, resulting in greater health and financial security. We recognize the health care system can be overwhelming for consumers who interact with it only occasionally. Through education and training programs, we enhance the ability of our membership to provide better and more complete service. Through our members’ community and political involvement we seek to improve communities throughout California.

CAHU is active in helping to fashion laws and regulations which protect consumers, increase market competition and improve the stability of the health care and related coverage we represent.

CAHU is the largest state association within the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). Through NAHU, CAHU members are active in informing health care policy decisions made in Washington, D.C. CAHU, in turn, is comprised of many local chapters located throughout California.
